Unable to install / uninstall / "Can't delete
file" Error? |
 |
Due to changes in S60 3rd Edition the Application Installer
does not properly shut down our applications when trying
to install or uninstall. If you are getting a "Can't
delete file" error message when trying to install
a new version of SkyeCaller or when trying to uninstall
SkyeCaller, then follow the steps below to resolve this
issue.
1. Press and hold the menu button to see a list of
active applications. If you should see either SkyeTones
or SkyeCaller on that list (depending on what
you have installed). Select it and press the "c"
(backspace) button. This will close the application.
2. Alternatively, go into either the SkyeTones
or SkyeCaller application, select "Options"
softkey and the "Exit" from the menu.
This will close the application.
Once all applications have been closed, you may proceed
to install / reinstall / delete your Skyestream product.

Quick test instructions |
 |
The SkyeTones application works mostly in the background.
What it does is add whatever videos you have to the list
of ringtones you may select in either the Profiles
or Contacts application. So, if you have for example
"musicvid.3gp" stored in the "videos"
folder in either internal memory or memory card, then
you will see "musicvid.3gp" listed when
you go to select a ringtone. So essentially, you use the
same mechanism to select a video ringtone that you would
to select a regular audio ringtone. It is however important
that you store your video content in the "videos"
folder otherwise SkyeTones will not find it.
So using the example above, you would do the following:
1. Go to the application menu
2. Select the "Tools" folder
3. Select the "Profiles" application
4. Select the "General" profile on the list of
profiles
5. Select "Personalise" from the pop-up menu
6. Select "Ringing tone" from the list of
settings
7. From the list of available ringtones, select
"musicvid.3gp"
8. Done!

Video clip is not listed when trying to select a
ringtone. |
 |
For SkyeTones to work, it requires all video clips
be stored in the "Videos" folder in internal
memory or on the memory card. If you place video in some
other folder, SkyeTones will not detect it and
it will therefore not be listed when you try to select
a video ringtone in either the Contacts application or
the Profiles application.
1. Simply move all video clips to the "Videos"
folder
2. Done!

Known issue #1: When the phone rings, only the audio
is played back / Two video clips with the same name listed
when trying to select a video ringtone. |
 |
In some newer versions of S60 3rd Edition firmware,
support has been added for playing the AUDIO of video
clips stored on the phone. This causes confusion because
SkyeTones also lists these same video clips, resulting
in two video clips of the same name being listed in the
list of available ringtones. Users therefore have to guess
which one is the correct one to choose.
Workaround fix:
1. When selecting a video ringtone in the list of ringtones,
hover over each of the two video clips with the same
name. While hovering, one of these will start to play
back the audio in the video, this is the INCORRECT one,
select the OTHER video clip (no audio played back while
hovering).
2. Once the correct clip has been selected as above,
everything should work ok!
3. Done!
